She Came, She Saw, and She Conquered. She’s 19, Covid-19.
The world is at war against an invisible enemy. An enemy created by human greed, and being lost by human stupidity.
The Covid-19. Until now – as much as we may claim that we will win ; the virus has slain over a quarter million – including frontliners, and infected millions more, and it’s flattened all our possible ‘curves’ – the economy included.
In fact, it would be fair to admit that, ” She – that’s Covid-19 came, she saw and she conquered.”
The world however has not risen above its political as well as medical one-upmanship. We have argued over merits or demerits of the types of Face-Masks – after the initial debate of the need to wear it or not , HCQS, Oseltamivir, Favipavir, Remdesivir, Plasma therapy, Azithromycin but atleast in India , a majority of the patients have received just the same medications. And it’s here that the Healthcare Leadership has let the medical profession miserably down.
We have made healthcare workers and the police – the much-celebrated Covid Warrors (defacto lambs being led to their slaughter) while in reality every citizen needs to be a Covid-19 Warrior.
When will we let reason and logic rule over rhetoric ? When will we stigmatize reckless behavior and not the Covid infected or quarantined ?
Time to introspect, is now.
